ChatnBid ("we") runs timed online auctions for the jewelry trade at chatnbid.com. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.

What we collect

• Mobile phone number — to log you in with a one-time code and, if you opt in, to send auction text alerts.
• Display name — shown publicly next to your bids.
• Auction activity — lots you list, bids you place, and results.
• Telegram user ID — only if you choose to link a Telegram account to bid from Telegram.

How we use it

• To run auctions: record bids, enforce the timer and rules, and determine winners.
• When a lot sells, we share the winner's and seller's display names and phone numbers with each other so they can arrange payment and delivery. Your phone number is otherwise never shown publicly.
• To send the text messages described below.

Text messaging (SMS)

We send one-time login codes, and — only if you opt in — alerts when you are outbid. Parties to a completed sale also receive a text with the sale result and the other party's contact details. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of alerts at any time, or HELP for help.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, except service providers that deliver our messages (such as our SMS carrier, Twilio).

Service providers

We use Supabase (database and login), Vercel (hosting) and Twilio (text messages) to operate the service. They process data only on our behalf.

Retention & deletion

Auction records are kept as a record of sales. To delete your account, email support@chatnbid.com; we remove your profile and phone number, keeping only anonymized bid history needed for completed sales.
